# Terms of service for the Valdar app and this site

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the **Sports Card Scanner - Valdar** mobile
application (the “App”) and the website **sportscardradar.com** (the “Site”), operated by
**Vast Flow, LLP** (“Vast Flow”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, or by using the Site, you
agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

Most of what follows is about the same distinction, stated in different places: a number produced here is a
reading, and a reading is not a promise. The App estimates what a card is worth from what similar cards have sold
for. The calculators do arithmetic on figures you supply. The reference data is a transcription of what somebody
else published, on a date. None of those three is a valuation, an appraisal, a grade or an offer, and the sections
below say so in the specific terms each one needs.

## What the service is

Valdar identifies sports cards from photos, shows market-value estimates built from public marketplace data (such
as eBay sold listings), generates AI condition-grade estimates, and lets you organize collections and track
portfolio value.

The Site is a separate thing that sits alongside it: [24 free calculators](https://sportscardradar.com/tools/) that run
entirely in your browser, a set of [reference articles](https://sportscardradar.com/scouting/), and 7 open
datasets published as JSON. None of it requires
an account, a payment or the App, and none of it transmits what you type. The
[privacy policy](https://sportscardradar.com/privacy/) sets that out in full.

***Three kinds of number, three different ways to check one, and no guarantee among them.** A transcribed figure is checked against the publisher’s own page, which is linked from every table that uses it. A computed figure is checked by changing an input and watching the answer move. An estimate is checked against what the card actually sold for, afterwards. The terms below attach to whichever of the three you are looking at.*

## What the free tools are, and what they are not

Every calculator on the Site is arithmetic on numbers you supply. It has no access to a price feed, no opinion
about your card, and no knowledge of anything you have not typed into it. That is a real limitation and it is also
the reason the answers are checkable: every figure the tools use is either an input you set or a published value
shown in a table on the same page, with the source named and the date it was read.

What follows from that is worth being explicit about, because the tools answer questions that sound like
valuations. They are not valuations. They are not appraisals, and nothing on this site may be presented as one —
to an insurer, to a tax authority, to a buyer, or to anyone else who is relying on it. They are not financial
advice. And they are not a grading opinion: no grade is issued, implied or predicted by anything published here.

## Value and grade figures are estimates

**Value estimates are informational only.** Market values shown in the App are statistical estimates derived from past public sales. They are not an appraisal, an offer to buy, or a guarantee that any card will sell for any price.

**AI grades are not official grades.** Condition estimates are generated by AI from your photos and depend on photo quality. They are not issued, endorsed or recognized by PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC or any grading company, and actual professional grades may differ.

**Nothing in the App is financial advice.** Decisions to buy, sell, hold or grade cards are yours alone.

The reason an estimate and a sale price diverge is not a defect in the estimate. A card sells for what one buyer
paid on one day, in one venue, at one time of year, in a condition a photograph may not fully show. An estimate
built from past sales describes the middle of a distribution; the next sale is a single draw from it. Treat the
range as the information and the midpoint as a convenience, which is why the
[sold-comps calculator](https://sportscardradar.com/tools/card-value-calculator/) reports a range and flags its outliers rather
than printing one confident figure.

## The reference data is a transcription, with a date

Published tolerances, fee structures, era boundaries and the rest of the reference layer are transcribed from the
organisations that publish them, and every table carries the date it was read — currently 2026-09-11 —
together with a link to the live page rather than to a copy of it. Those organisations revise what they publish
without notice and without telling us. A transcription can therefore be correct on the day it was made and wrong
three months later, while still looking authoritative.

So the link is the authority and the transcription is the convenience. Where the two disagree, the publisher is
right and this site is out of date, and the honest thing to do with a figure that matters to a decision involving
money is to open the source. That is also why no grading fee schedule is published here at all: a hardcoded fee is
wrong within a quarter, and a wrong number that looks maintained is worse than no number. If you find a stale
figure, [report it](https://sportscardradar.com/contact/) — corrections are credited.

## The licence on the published data

The 7 datasets at [sportscardradar.com/api/](https://sportscardradar.com/api/) are published under
[CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). In practice that means you may copy them, republish them,
modify them, and build commercial products on them, without asking and without a fee. The single condition is
attribution: name Sports Card Radar as the source and link to the page or the endpoint the data came from.

Attribution is not endorsement, and the licence does not grant the second. Using the data is permitted; presenting
it as approved by, supplied by, or produced in partnership with Vast Flow, LLP is not, and neither is presenting it
as endorsed by or sourced from any grading company, marketplace or manufacturer named in it. The data describes
those organisations; it does not come from them.

## Using the API and the agent endpoints

The JSON endpoints, the markdown copy of each page and the machine-readable discovery documents are open to
anything that can make an HTTP request. There is no key, no account and no rate limit today. Three conditions
apply, and they are the conditions that let it stay that way.

- **Cache what you pull.** The reference data changes when a grading company revises a scale, which is rare; each dataset publishes how often it actually moves. Re-fetching it on every request is a cost carried by everyone else reading the site.
- **Do not misrepresent it.** Do not present the data as endorsed by this publisher’s subjects, and do not strip the caveats a dataset ships with — several of them exist because the field they qualify is misread often.
- **Do not overload the infrastructure.** Aggressive crawling that degrades the service for other readers may be blocked, and that is the only circumstance in which access is withdrawn.

No uptime is promised, no schema is frozen, and endpoints may change or be withdrawn. Where a change would break
something built on it, the sensible protection is to pin a copy of the dataset under the licence, which CC BY
already allows you to do.

## Licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own
non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the Apple
App Store or Google Play.

## Subscriptions and payment

- The App is free to download with a limited free tier. **Valdar Premium** is available as an auto-renewing subscription (weekly at $3.99 or annually at $29.99; local prices may vary).
- Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies; we cannot issue refunds directly for store-billed purchases.

Nothing on the Site is behind any of that. The calculators, the reference articles and the open data are free,
require no account, and are not a trial of anything.

## Acceptable use

- Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, resell or bulk-extract data from the App;
- Do not use the App for unlawful purposes or to infringe the rights of others;
- Do not attempt to disrupt or overload our infrastructure;
- Do not upload content that is illegal or that you have no right to use.

The first line is about the App, deliberately. The reference data does not need to be scraped, because it is
published as JSON under a licence that permits bulk use — taking it from the endpoint is faster, cleaner and
expressly allowed.

## Trademarks and intellectual property

The App, the Site, the Valdar name and logo, and all software, design and content we created are owned by Vast
Flow and protected by law. Card images, player names, team names and trademarks belong to their respective owners
and are used for identification purposes only.

Valdar is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or in any way connected to any
grading company, marketplace, card manufacturer or sports league, and no such relationship should be inferred from
a name appearing on this site. Names appear because a card cannot be described without them.

## Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms.
The sections on estimates, the data licence, intellectual property, limitation of liability and governing law
survive termination.

## Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Vast Flow is
not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for losses arising from decisions made
based on value or grade estimates. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12
months preceding the claim.

## Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected.

## Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above
and, where appropriate, announced in the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. This
version is September 11, 2026.
