What Valdar does not do
An app that scans a card and shows a number is one bad assumption away from being useless, so it is worth being exact about what the number is. Valdar reads what copies of that exact card have sold for — not what sellers are asking, and not a book value printed at some point in the past. A value estimate is therefore a reading of history, and history is the best available evidence about a price rather than a promise about one.
The grade estimate is an estimate. Valdar judges centering, corners, edges and surface from a photograph and projects where a card would land, which is enough to decide whether a submission is worth the fee and is not enough to replace one. Only PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC or TAG can issue a grade, and the difference between an estimate and a grade is the difference between a plan and a receipt.
It does not buy, sell or consign anything, and it takes no commission on any transaction. It is not affiliated with any grading company, marketplace or manufacturer. That independence is why the free calculators can tell you that grading a card would lose money, and why the published data carries no ranking of the grading companies by quality — there is nothing here that gets paid more if you submit.

Values are built from real eBay sold listings and third-party pricing databases — actual transactions, not asking prices. You see the low, median and high of recent sales for your exact card.
Is the AI grade an official PSA grade?
No. Valdar gives a PSA-style estimate of centering, corners, edges and surface so you can decide whether professional grading is worth the fee. Only PSA, BGS, CGC or SGC can issue an official grade.
Which cards does Valdar recognize?
